11_window_view554x365_2Whether you are a rail fan, a nature and wildlife enthusiast, or a vacationer looking for a unique and relaxed way to see the spectacular beauty of Northeast Oregon, a ride on the Eagle Cap Excursion Train is sure to please!

The Eagle Cap Excursion Train is a scenic train that operates on a 63 mile long railroad, linking the communities of Elgin, Wallowa, Enterprise and Joseph in Northeast Oregon. Along the way, the track passes through spectacular roadless areas as it follows the Wild & Scenic Grande Ronde River down stream, then turns up the Wallowa River and across the beautiful Wallowa Valley to the base of the towering Wallowa Mountains.

The track, historically known as the Joseph Branch, is owned by the governments of Wallowa and Union Counties and operated by the Wallowa Union Railroad Authority, which also operates rail freight service on the track.
